If your heart is calling you to marry in Ireland, on ancient land rich with story and soul - you are most welcome here.
I’m Carmel, a Celtic Celebrant, Legal Solemniser and harpist based in the heart of Ireland. I work with couples from across the world, especially the US and Canada, who are drawn to the deep beauty, tradition and sacredness of getting married in Ireland.
Whether you are planning a legal wedding, symbolic ceremony, intimate elopement or vow renewal, I will guide you every step of the way - creating a ceremony that is authentic, soulful and unforgettable.
Why Get Married in Ireland?
Ireland offers a sense of magic that is hard to put into words. With its wild landscapes, sacred sites, ancient trees and timeworn stone, it is a place where love can be honoured in its truest form.
Many of my couples choose Ireland for its beauty and heritage — but also because it feels like coming home to something deeper. Whether you have Irish roots or simply feel a connection to this land, your ceremony can reflect that.
Legal Wedding Ceremonies in Ireland
As a registered Legal Solemniser with the HSE (Health Service Executive), I am authorised to perform fully legal weddings in Ireland - seven days a week, outdoors or indoors, at a venue of your choosing.
This means:
You do not need a separate civil or church ceremony
Your ceremony can be in nature, by the sea, at a castle, or in a quiet grove
You can include Celtic rituals, personal vows and music
It will be fully legal and recognised internationally
I’ll guide you through the entire legal process and timeline so everything is easy and stress-free.
Celtic Ceremonies
Timeless & Personal
Your ceremony can include meaningful Irish traditions such as:
Handfasting – the ancient ritual of binding hands with cord or ribbon
Fire or candle blessings – symbolising warmth, protection and transformation
Water blessings – honouring emotion and flow
Tree planting or stone rituals – grounding your vows in nature
Brigid blessings – inviting love, creativity and hearth energy
Jumping the broom – crossing into your shared future with joy
Cacao or shared toasts – to celebrate and seal your union
Each ceremony is co-created with you - inclusive, soulful and shaped to reflect your story.
Live Celtic Music for Your Ceremony
With over 40 years as a Celtic singer and harpist, I offer live music as an optional part of your ceremony. The harp and voice create a deeply moving atmosphere - a sound that resonates with the land and adds a gentle magic to your vows.
You may choose live music to welcome guests, during a ritual or simply as a moment to pause and breathe.
Where Can We Get Married in Ireland?
I travel across Ireland to meet you where your ceremony takes place. Some popular locations include:
The Cliffs of Moher and the Wild Atlantic Way
County Wicklow forests and glens
Dublin venues and historic gardens
Ancient stone circles, castle ruins and sacred sites
Private homes, lodges or retreat centres
Whether you're planning a small elopement or a full wedding celebration, I will meet you there.
Planning From Abroad
Most of my couples plan everything from their home country. We meet over Zoom, I guide you through every detail, and together we create something grounded, easeful and truly meaningful.
You'll receive support with:
Legal paperwork and timelines
Choosing rituals and music
Ceremony flow and structure
Honouring cultural or family elements
All time zones and questions welcome.
